AEW Dynamite Grand Slam France Preview (6/10/2026)

Tonight, 6/10/2026, AEW presents Dynamite Grand Slam: France featuring 4 title matches, a qualifier and a huge tag team match! Let's delve into each of these matches individually to see how it all breaks down!

Where better to start than the main event? The 15th AEW International Champion in his first reign and resident Ospreay boogeyman Kazuchika Okada challenges the 20th AEW World Champion in his first reign (and second defence) Will Ospreay for the Pretty Platinum in the last match of the evening! Ospreay, who won the championship in the main event of AEW All In in Wembley Stadium, has already got a third defence lined up in the Clockwork Carnage match at AEW Wrestledream (which is NOT confusing guys have some sense) however he also holds a 2-9 record in 1v1 matches against Okada so this could really swing either way! I am going to have to tip the scales towards Ospreay on account of his recent successes however I'm certain there will be shenanigans involving the Don Callis Family which could well cost The Rainmaker!

Speaking of champions with defences lined up at Wrestledream, the 18th AEW Womens Champion Mercedes Mone in her first reign defends her championship for the first time against Queen Aminata (also recieving her first ever World Championship opportunity) in a rematch from the 16.10.2024 AEW Dynamite when Mercedes successfully defeated Aminata to retain the TBS Championship! This time around I can't see Mercedes losing either as Thekla awaits her at Wrestledream!

I'm shocked this match has never happened one on one given both men have held a combined 5 TNT championships together! However tonight that wait ends as we see who the best TNT Championship winner is! Darby Allin, the 33rd TNT Champion making his third defence, is the heavy favourite in my opinion although it is nice we get to see Darby and Fletcher square off given we weren't really far into the match at All Out before it had to be stopped due to Steve Borden's injury! If any title was to change hands tonight it would be this one as the TNT Title gets slingshotted about more than any other AEW Title!

Off the back of Jon Moxley defeating Jake Doyle in a AEW Continental Title Eliminator, the dangerous duo of Davis & Doyle reunite to attempt to topple an unusual Death Riders lineup of Jon Moxley & "The Madman" Gabe Kidd! This is the first 2 on 2 tag match pairing Davis & Doyle up since the injury in the FTR title match that took Jake Doyle out for 4 months! There aren't exactly a lot of reasons this match has been booked but it will be thoroughly enjoyable!

The most unpredictable match of the evening sees the 17th AEW Trios Champions The New Level's Kofi challenge the 42nd ROH World Champion Bandido making his 19th defence for the gold! Flip a coin and you have as good a chance as any to call this match! Kofi is the hot new thing, has more experience, has more momentum (you could argue) and has hold a lot more gold however Bandido has held Ring of Honor's top prize for 548 days and counting! You also have to factor in that this show is aired on a slight tape delay so the odds of a result being spoiled is very high so beware!

The last match of this preview will see "The Scapegoat" Jack Perry take on The Opps' real leader Samoa Joe! The image I get when imagining Jack Perry facing Joe is that of a little pooch thinking he can fight all the bigger dogs. It's technically possible but I'd rather not watch because I don't back him to survive! I could be wrong though and I'd love to be (but I'm definitely not)!!! This match has the added stakes of confirming you into the Clockwork Carnage match should you secure the pinfall or (more likely) submission! That match is simply a gauntlet eliminator until the 8th man enters when it becomes a 15 minute iron man match! Whoever has the most falls (not counting those before the 8th man entered) walks out AEW Champion! If you want a visulisation of this I would reccomend checking out EVE's Global Thunder Queens Attack which had this match type as it's main event https://myaew.com/event/170a6a6b-5972-4297-b49c-136be7d873aa)
That is all we have time for this evening though! Enjoy the show if you're watching at the start time of 9pm ET or 2am BST and never forget to Stay Ramblin'
