MITB Participants

As it stands, only 3 things are announced for tonight's WWE Smackdown live from Lafayette, Los Angeles just one night before Money In The Bank:

  • Fatal Influence (Fallon Henley & Lainey Reid) vs. Charlotte Flair & Tatum Paxley – WWE Tag Team Championship match

  • All Money in the Bank ladder match participants to appear

  • Tiffany Stratton, Jacy Jayne & Lash Legend battle Sol Ruca, Lola Vice & Roxanne Perez

We kick things off with Nick Aldis being confronted by Adam Pearce about booking Tiffany Stratton, Jacy Jayne & Lash Legend vs Sol Ruca, Lola Vice & Roxanne Perez without asking him! Trick Williams then interrupts talking about the Gingerbread Man (😒) before Bron Breakker pops up and asks if he wants to fight! That's our main event sorted then! The Raw vs Smackdown Survivor Series seeds seem to have been planted by this segment...

We throw it down the ring where CM Punk is here! I have a feeling he won't be alone for long given that everyone is here! He talks from the top of a ladder about each of his opponents tomorrow (whilst also throwing shots at current WWE Champion Sami Zayn) before Kevin Owens interrupts with Punk still gabbing on whilst his theme plays! These 2 have some special sauce between them so I'm excited for yet another installment! Kevin puts over how important winning the contract, and keeping Punk from winning it, is to him. He is once more setting up a failsafe in case he doesn't win! Punk says Kevin is looking up at him tonight like he should do all of the time so Kevin climbs the ladder and meets him eye to eye before Sami Zayn's music hits! Punk & KO have some common ground in their hatred for old Sami! Sami's ladder is significantly shorter and he is getting "Sami sucks" chants so really not a great night for him! He makes reference to the fact that even when he's champion he isn't top billing and then CM "Phill Brooks" Punk (47 years of age) makes a penis joke!

Zayn paints himself as a genius by saying he has been manipulating Punk & KO and that they're actually quite similar! According to Zayn, both men will leave tomorrow empty-handed because of their hatred of each other before leaving Punk & KO to stare each other down! So that all but confirms that one of these 2 are winning and I am suspecting a same-night cash in too!

Tiffany Stratton, Jacy Jayne & Lash Legend vs Roxxane Perez, Lola Vice & Sol Ruca
Tiffany Stratton, Jacy Jayne & Lash Legend def. Roxxane Perez, Lola Vice & Sol Ruca

We come back from the break and this just blatantly isn't gonna work is it? The team representing Raw are currently feuding against each other but somehow they don't mind teaming together! Also on the left Jacy Jayne, who beat Tiffany Stratton for the US Title, is teaming with the woman who's injury helped her do it and Tiffany! The ultimate "Can They Coexist" story (which Corey Graves already referenced to a huge cheer from me)

Lola Vice and Sol Ruca were working together quite well before being taken out and Jacy Jayne & Tiffany were the exact opposite! Lola Vice was hitting her running hip attacks in the corners when a tag was made and everything broke down with blind tags galore! This has been a bit convoluted but it seems order is being restored before the tag claxon sounds and everyone hits their finisher onto each other! Lash Legend wins with the Lash Extension before attacking her own teammates! I get this was needed for "preview" purposes but I was not a fan one bit with how stupid it is that they even agreed to team!

We cut backstage to Chelsea Green who is staying positive in her interview before Nikki Bella interrupts and calls her a bootleg Nikki Bella and says the fans, and Matt Cardona, want an upgrade to the real thing (not sure what Scott Oberman has to do with this but I would prefer him to be WWE Womens Champ than Nikki Bella so fair enough). Also Charlotte Flair got DESTROYED by Jade Cargill & The Baddies round the corner so we left the Green/Bella segment quite quick. I wonder if Green swung at Bella for talking about her husband or if they froze in time ready to be unfrozen tomorrow at MITB to continue their interaction 🤔

WWE Radio ad time! I'll never get over them buying off Bully Ray of all people as if they weren't already praising them every time anyway!

Charlotte Flair needs Alexa Bliss to take her spot in the tag match which she accepts and now Haku is here with the MFTs for a tag match against the War Raiders (without the titles on the line). Also, Money In The Bank is earlier tomorrow which I appreciate as I am not staying up until 4am every night again as I'm washed up and old!

The War Raiders should be bigger names IMO as Ivar takes everyone out with a Cannonball Senton! They won't stop advertising Billiam-Smith vs Clarke in the boxing which isn't an event even close to what I asked for! After a bit of the match, Shinsuke Nakamura & Kyoki (big downgrade from Hiromu Takahashi) appear on the ramp and with the help of Haku the MFTs win. Afterwards Nak & Ky take out both teams!

Backstage, Danhausen is trying to scan Adam Pearce for evil to no avail but then Finn Balor appears and it lights up when he's scanned! Finn asks for a match against Gunther to which Aldis tells him Gunther has already requested a match tonight... against Danhausen!

The Miz pulls up to the arena annoyed Nick Aldis didn't throw him a birthday party and then Randy Orton is stopped by Big Nick too who tells him to kick rocks and leave! Randy agrees but tells Nick to tell Cody that eventually when he gets another opportunity, he knows he's going to hesitate (obviously referencing the stupid bit where Cody Rhodes, who has caved AJ Styles head in with steel steps before, won't hit a little kick)! The Miz & Kit take the ring and try to hijack Smackdown but Cody Rhodes is having none of it taking both out! Aldis asks Cody to come to his office (god he's everywhere tonight he must have Danhausen's teleportation powers). Cody calls the ring his office and tells Aldis he can speak to him there (corny as always). He then cuts a promo about Wrestlemania and Saturday Night's Main Event which is pretty decent before begging Aldis to get him Orton.

Damian Priest is interviewed on the fact he used to be the Money In The Bank holder and blames his lack of success in recent times on R-Truth. He says anyone who needs more explanation is just stubborn. Fraxiom are talking near him about what he did being wrong and so Priest takes them both out (woohoo let's beat up the only 2 competent members of the tag division). R-Truth appears and Priest brawls with him!

Up next Danhausen faces Gunther except the match never happens as Gunther attacks Danhausen before the bell leading to Finn Balor making the save before checking on Danhausen allowing Gunther to sneak back in and choke Balor out! If this goes the direction of Balor vs Gunther in a straight wrestling match I'm hyped. If it goes the direction of a Wiener Schnitzel on a pole match against Danhausen I'm less hyped!

Sami Zayn is backstage talking to Johnny Gargano when Bron Breakker interrupts and stares at Sami, then his title, and says "I'll see you soon". You absolutely won't be pal the draft isn't for a long long time!

Alexa Bliss & Tatum Paxley def. Fatal Influence for the Women's Tag Team Titles
Alexa Bliss & Tatum Paxley def. Fatal Influence for the Women's Tag Team Titles

Our next contest of the evening pits Alexa Bliss & Tatum Paxley against Fatal Influence for the Women's Tag Team Titles. Alexa hits Sister Abigail on the floor to Lainey Reed and Tatum hits Cemetery Drive to Fallon to win the titles! I think the women's tag titles still have no relevance to be completely honest and that's not helped by the fact Alexa Bliss has won the belt 5 times with 4 different partners! I love Tatum Paxley though so as long as she's a champion I can live with it (but best believe we're getting her Chelsea's belt soon).

Then was time for Trick Williams vs Bron Breakker in our main event! This may be a Champion vs Champion match but it was certainly not AEW as they only had 10 minutes and no overrun so this had to be fast paced as all hell! Eventually Bron lined up for the spear, got hit with a Trick Shot and The Vision caused the DQ (definitely not AEW then because big TK would have Bron kicking out and then hitting a 5-rope bounced spear instead of the woke DQ nonsense). What an anticlimactic ending as Theory beats Trick and Logan beats up Lil Yachty (2 non-wrestlers) before Je'Von & Penta run out to save the day before Bronson Reed stops that and hits a Tsunami onto Trick Williams! Oba must not have fancied popping by to confront his challenger to the throne of Best Big Man at MITB (which I am EXTREMELY excited for)

That was the end of the show so remember,

Stay Ramblin'
